7 Ways to Use the Detailed SEO Extension
There are many use cases, but these are seven ways I’m using it right now:
1. Quick On-Page SEO Analysis
Your primary keyword should be in your title, meta description, URL, H1, and first sentence.
And with the Detailed extension, you can analyze these critical on-page SEO elements in seconds:
You should also click on “Headings” to confirm that keyword in the H1 and variation in the H2:
This section also lets you see the headings are in logical order at a glance.
For example, you should only have one H1 tag per page.

2. Verify Crawling & Indexability
If Google can’t crawl your site, it can’t get indexed.
And if it isn’t indexable, it’s impossible to rank.
Look under the “Robots Tag” section and confirm that you don’t see “noindex.”

Or it can be blank, which is also acceptable.
3. Investigate Your Sitemap & Robots.txt
Having a proper sitemap can help with crawling and indexing. While the robot.txt (when misused) can prevent indexing.
The good news is that you can investigate both in a second with Detailed:
4. Optimize Your Links
Everyone loves backlinks, but few people obsess about internal and external links. Big mistake!
One opportunity I like to look for is internal link anchor text.
So, I’ll export the internal links on a page with Detailed:
Then, I can study the anchor text and adjust if it isn’t descriptive enough.
It’s okay to use keyword-rich anchor text with internal links.
But be careful with backlink anchor text.
5. Examine Your Schema Markup
Structured data or schema markup helps search engines like Google understand your page better. Most websites misuse it, though.
So with Detailed, you can do a quick checkup:

Go to the “Advanced” tab:
And with one click, you can analyze your page’s link profile with Ahrefs (how to use Ahrefs):
Check loading speed with Google PageSpeed Insights:
7. Study How Your Site Appears on Google
While on the Advanced tab, look under “Tools”:
In one click, you can see what pages aren’t secure in Google:
And you can see what pages are indexed right now with a “site:” search:
You’ll often find pages that shouldn’t be indexed, often referred to as index bloat. Or, you may find pages that are outdated (like the example above).
Install the Detailed SEO Extension
